maybe she should have stopped at the shelter instead, but her mind was on getting to kate as fast as possible.

[ unfortunately she hadn't had the foresight to bring a jacket for kate as well, and she follows her further into the apartment, pulling her own off as she goes. it's gotten a bit colder and she's not sure how much longer she's going to be able to tolerate the chill, but kate's much less covered than she is. since the sun is still out, she's mostly covered up anyway.
when kate comes back out, she hands her the jacket in lieu of the towel. the dress is...an interesting look on her, she probably should have looked for something that would cover more. but no time to worry about that now if kate isn't concerned. ]
